Sir John Petting Bt TD, passed away on Sunday 21 June 2020 at the age of 88. Sir John was admitted to the Freedom of the Company by Servitude in January 1955 and elected to the Livery in June 1955. He was appointed as a Lieutenant of Her Majesty’s Commission of Lieutenancy for the City of London in 1963.
He was elected as a Court Assistant in 1980 and served as Under Renter Warden in that year. He served as Master in 1988 and in 1994. He was Upper Renter Warden in 1983. He was elected as a Sheriff of the City of London in 1991.
John is survived by his daughter, Emma Heyman and son, John Perring.
