William died on 16 July 2019 aged 80. He was the very dear husband of Phyllida and very proud father, grandfather and father-in-law of Henrietta, James, Poppy, Sophie, Henning, Phoebe, David and Tessa. Following Stowe, William went onto Emmanuel College, Cambridge where he received his master’s in Agriculture. William worked for; the Ministry of Agriculture, Experimental Husbandry Farm at Trawscoed, Aberystwyth, Cheveley & Co, Agricultural Consultants and Country Landowners Association. As well as being the Secretary of Landowners Group for ten years, William was High Sheriff of East Sussex from 2000-2001.
