21 April 1938 – 8 May 2021
My brother Neil passed away at the age of 83 in Lima, Peru. He was born in Harrogate, Yorkshire.
In his early years Neil suffered a prolonged illness, which meant that he missed six years of schooling. It was therefore even more remarkable that he did so well at Stowe and achieved great things there and thereafter. Neil loved cricket and became 1st II Captain at Stowe and was an accomplished wicket keeper.
He chose accountancy as his profession and joined Price Waterhouse (later Price Waterhouse Coopers). Neil became a much-respected partner at his firm and served as such for thirty years. Early in his career Neil emigrated to Peru. There he married and had three children, one of whom, Neil Junior, went to Stowe (Walpole 86).
Sadly, later in his life Neil’s health deteriorated causing him to curtail his social life, though he did manage a visit to England during this time to see the English members of his family.
