As a busy Mum, my career as a photojournalist is on hold. But with my youngest now at primary school, I’ve launched a new home-based venture, eco-printing.
Using environmentally friendly techniques I transfer the natural colour and shape in plants onto pure fabrics such as silk, linen, cashmere and wool. The process combines my love of image making with the natural landscape around me here in Italy.
Living in the foothills of the Monte Pisano near Pisa I have a rich and varied palette. My finished textiles are used for products such as bed linen, scarves, table runners, tote bags and book covers.
Old Stoics are welcome to my workshops, which includes a hike from my studio along Dante’s Pass (mentioned in The Divine Comedy) to forage for the foliage to print their own unique designs.
