Ian Dowdeswell (Grafton 59)

Ian writes, “After leaving Stowe in 1956 at the end of my second year, I went to Rhodesia to complete a BSc in 1959 and then proceeded to St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, finishing in 1965. I worked in Rhodesia with further training in Cape Town and then specialised in thoracic medicine and intensive care. Since 1980, I have been based in Indianapolis at Indiana University Medical School, until retiring in 2011. Last September, I brought some of our family and grandchildren to see the School where we joined Chris Atkinson (Chatham 59) and several of our year at Old Stoic Day; we hope to encourage as many of the 1959 year to join us at our 60th Reunion this September.”
