“I was 70 back in February this year (born on the very morning of our late Queen‘s Accession, in fact). I have been living in Leeds since 2008 after 16 years teaching English in the UAE. I‘m currently still a part-time language tutor in Arabic and Turkish at the University of Leeds. I‘ve survived the COVID/Lockdown era well enough so far and travelled only in the UK during 2020–21. This year I have bounced back on that front with trips to the UAE, Colombia and Prague. Although Stowe is not exactly nearby, I did manage a visit in September 2021 and hope to do so again sometime in the Centenary year.”
