“I have lived near Grasse, in southern France, for 31 years and retired after working here in Aviation Technology. I started with computers in 1967 and then spent the 70s and early 80s alternating summers as yacht crew and winters in the Alps, before returning to computers for the PC revolution. The sailing work took me across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific and included running sailing and diving charters in the Caribbean. In the late 1980s I completed two Telemark Skiing World Championships and in 2023 I will celebrate 49 years of hand-gliding.
