Dick writes to say, “We’ve had an extraordinary year – we moved to a new house in Stony Stratford a year ago having exchanged contracts within 16 days. Sadly, in May, four months later, the house caught fire and all that’s left now is nothing as the house and the neighbouring house had to be demolished – a wonderful way to move softly, softly into a new town and try to fit in! Hopefully, the insurance company will have honoured our claim by the time this is published, so that we can think about rebuilding a similar house but using modern construction.”
