Charles writes, “One recent highlight I would like to share with Old Stoics is a walk I did last October through the West Bank in support of the Palestinian people who feel persecuted (they are) and forgotten (we went to show them they are not). They are delightful, welcoming, smiling and hard working. We walked through the olive groves in the north to the desert wadis below Jerusalem – 110 miles in intense heat. Not bad for a grandfather of two! Most pictures are of dramatic scenery and even this one is not great as my face is in shade but it may be of interest. I hope that this is not too political for the magazine. I had some wonderful Jewish friends at Stowe and I am sure they would be saddened by the stories we heard.”
