Andrew Leslie Marr of Andrew Marr International Ltd, has been awarded a CBE in recognition of his services to the UK Fishing Industry. The Marr family have been involved in the fish business since the 1870s, with the company turning over £672 million in 2021. Mr Marr, of Beverley, was educated at Stowe before he joined the family business in 1960. He was admitted as an Honorary Brother of The Corporation of The Hull Trinity House in July 1991 and as a Younger Brother of the Corporation of The Trinity House, London, in July 1997. Additionally, he served as High Sheriff of the East Riding of Yorkshire 1999–2000 and was appointed Vice Lord-Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire in 2011. He is an Honorary Freeman of Beverley and is President of the Beverley Civic Society.
