Andrew has been supplying equipment and will be marketing large volumes of tropical timber recovered from The Volta Lake in Ghana, West Africa. The Lake was created in the early 1960s for a hydroelectric scheme and vast acreages of prime forest were flooded. The 50+ timber species are still standing upright and is in perfect condition and in sizes rarely seen. He continues to live in Suffolk with his wife Helen. One daughter attended Stowe, Charlotte Bird (Lyttelton 18), who is now studying architecture at Caius College, Cambridge.
