Alastair and Helga continued their busy life in their community in southern Arizona, but enjoyed four weeks in June in an AirBnB in Paris, in the Marais, a few minutes’ walk from where they used to live. Four floors up, it had an elevator, but no air conditioning – luckily the real heat wave arrived in July. Rain spoiled their day at Roland Garros but not their visit to Van Gogh’s village of Auvers-sur-Oise. They saw a Verdi opera and found an excellent replacement for their favourite Bistro.
