Sir Richard Kleinwort (Grenville 79)

Richard writes, “Another quiet year! I’m about to celebrate 10 years on the Advisory Board of Kleinwort Hambros, the merged family banking business and in February/March 2020, I launched a new film location business, Heaseland Estate Favourable rates are available for the OS community, please just get in touch.”

On 8 October 2020 Richard was appointed Vice Lord Lieutenant West Sussex. A press release read “Richard has considerable involvement in the charitable world both nationally and locally in West Sussex. He has been a member of the Worldwide Fund for Nature (UK) Board of Ambassadors since 2000 and is currently the senior trustee of The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust (established in 1962). Richard was President of the South of England Agricultural Society in 2019 and served as High Sheriff of West Sussex 2008-9. In recent months he has been instrumental in working with the Sussex Community Foundation to establish the Sussex Crisis Fund to provide funds to local groups responding to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Fund has to date given over £2 million in grants. The Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Susan Pyper said: “I am delighted that Richard Kleinwort has accepted my invitation to serve as Vice Lord-Lieutenant. His wide knowledge and experience of West Sussex, coupled with his deep affection for the county make him the ideal person for the role, and I am looking forward to working with him.”
