We’ve heard from Nick who says, “My fame as a Porsche 911 racer of some renown still stands me in good stead. I continue to locate rare and valuable air-cooled 911 variants of the Porsche marque. I continue to race in Classic and Historic events but finished my career as a Le Mans driver after 11 consecutive participations in this most historic of motor races. I visited Sicily this year to try to rediscover the tortuous course of the famous Targa Florio which I raced in in 1969. Sadly, there has been so much seismic activity in the backbone of Italy and Sicily that it has become impossible to retrace my days of thunder through the mountains and enjoy the amazing enthusiasm of the local fans. The roads have completely disappeared in several areas and the mountains and villages are eerily quiet. Fortunately, we have such great events in the UK like the Goodwood Revival that I still enjoy close to home. We travel a lot enjoying looking after interesting homes around the world, the next venture will be off roading over the Pyrenees in a special Jeep.”
