Mark died on 17 August 2022 from complications associated with Parkinson‘s disease.
He attended the Swiss Hotel School in Lausanne and then worked his way up the profession, successfully managing and opening hotels in England, France and South Africa. He was General Manager of the Carlton Tower Hotel in London before moving to South Africa where he oversaw Southern Sun‘s hotel portfolio and Holiday Inn acquisition. On returning to England, he was Managing Director of Town and County Catering. Before retirement, he managed the UK private property portfolio of a senior member of a foreign royal family.
