On leaving Stowe, Martyn went into the computer business in the City of London specialising in financial software. After an initial period with IBM, he spent the next 30 years running small to medium sized companies in the international financial software industry as a board member of both private and publicly listed companies. Retiring to his hometown of Yarmouth, Isle of Wight he is currently Chairman of The Yarmouth (Isle of Wight) Town Trust and Commodore of the Royal Solent Yacht Club.
