Mark writes, “I currently have both children at Stowe, Jack in Lower Sixth and Eleanor in Fourth Form. They are the fourth generation of Simpson’s to attend Stowe! On a ‘sustainable’ theme, the family business, The River Dart Country Park on Dartmoor, won gold at the Devon Tourism Awards 2019 for ‘Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism’ as well as a Special Award for ‘Energy Efficiency’. The Park was the first to install a fish friendly Archimedes Screw Hydro Turbine in the UK on the River Dart back in 2007 to power the site alongside two biomass boilers (installed in 2010) and a solar PV scheme (installed in 2011).”
