Kit writes, “During the first lockdown, I visited my allotment on many occasions and decided to build a greenhouse in order to grow some winter greens, not knowing then that there would be a second lockdown. I had an old trellis and used this as the base for the building. I covered all of the sides and the roof with heavy duty corrugated sheeting, fixed a gutter to the front and installed two water barrels, one inside and one outside. Even without heating it is amazingly warm inside and I have laid down Astro Turf, as you will see from my photo. I also fixed up a pond from an old plasterer’s mixing tray for wildlife to drink from.”
