“After more than 30 years spent in the luxury packaging market, and more recently having passed over control of our family company based in Cognac to my son-in-law, I decided it was time to change course, take retirement and enjoy some time with my wife to travel and explore France and overseas – despite having spent a great deal of my life travelling around the Eastern block and Europe.
My retirement present to myself was my dream car, an Austin Healey BT7 from 1961, which I bought from the US in March 2020. I am now in the process of restoring it as much as I can, with the objective of taking it to the Le Mans Classic in 2023 as it is the 100th Anniversary. We have also moved recently to a smaller house in Nercillac, just outside Cognac.”
