October half-term saw the opening of the new playground at Hever Castle in Kent. Designed by James, the huge play-castle is constructed using traditional oak-framing techniques and contains a plethora of scramble nets, slides, fireman’s poles and musical instruments for the children (and adults) to explore, all distributed over three floors. James’ design practice, FRLA, specialises in providing landscape design and heritage consultancy services to visitor attractions as well as undertaking commissions for private clients. www.frla.co.uk
