Francis Terry (Chatham 88)

Francis is part of a new generation of classical architects designing Georgian style buildings. Francis pursuit of architecture grew out of his passion for drawing, fostered during his time at Stowe. He has recently set up his own practice, and uses his talent of sketching and watercolours to draw schemes to bring his proposals to life for new clients. In 2019, Francis was nominated for a number of awards, including the Georgian Group’s Best New Building in the Classical Tradition and the Arthur Ross Award for Architecture. His own home was also shortlisted in a Country Life and Historic House award. As well as working in his own practice, Francis is also Chairman of the Traditional Architecture Group, a linked society to the RIBA, which promotes traditional and classical architecture.
