Francis raced Hardmoors 110, negotiating the 114 miles of Cleveland Way from Filey to Helmsley. Two navigation errors in appalling weather led to him being out on course for 35 hours, just scraping in within the 36-hour cut-off. Nearly half the field were unable to complete. He then ran the Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 24-Hour Track Race, completing 421 laps (105 miles) at Tooting Bec, recording a 100-mile personal best. His next ultra is Arc of Attrition, aptly named as it takes place at the end of January, with 36 hours to negotiate 100 miles plus of South West Coast Path around the Cornish peninsula from Coverack to Porthtowan. Average completion rate is 55%.
