David writes, “How incredibly sad that Roddy Swanston (Bruce 66) died so relatively young, a good friend during our time at Stowe and with whom we vied at the start of every term for 5 years to arrive early enough to bag the prime organ practice slots. His CV reflects a career of remarkable achievement and his Memorial Service at Southwark Cathedral was an occasion. Katharine and I celebrated our Ruby Anniversary in July (The Queen Mary II cruise ship was a part of this) and our three grandchildren provide much joy. Following my radical modified neck dissection in June 2018, I feel in good shape and we are making the most of seeing different parts of the world whilst we can. I continue to delight in my several visits to Stowe annually and wish more of my generation would make the effort!”
