“It has been a great first year for our Foundation’s new Montessori School in a traditional Javanese wooden house in Yogyakarta, Indonesia: we started with eight students and by mid-2022 were at 50. About a fifth of them are local village children who study free of charge. Support from parents has been tremendous and has helped teachers build a warm and homely learning environment. The Foundation also runs social and cultural activities for the community. Separately, I continue involvement with several values education NGOs, mentoring at the University of Hong Kong and as Chairman of the University of Oxford‘s China Advisory Group.”
