William writes to tell us, “I returned from five months working in Antarctica for the British Antarctic Survey in March last year. I was stationed on Halley VI; the most southern British station there is. The main operation there is climate change research and data collection. As the station is positioned on a floating ice shelf, it naturally lends itself to being a logistical nightmare. I was involved in machinery operations.
