“My latest history book, The Siege of Loyalty House: a Civil War Story was published by The Bodley Head last May. It has had some lovely reviews and was named as a Book of the Year in The Times, Telegraph, Guardian, Spectator, The Critic and Mail on Sunday. In September 2022, I was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. Meantime, Bella (14) and Lara (11) are keeping me busy and I occasionally tweet.”
