Bob writes, “I retired to France in 2006 to be closer to my daughter and live in the beautiful area known as the Vendée, South West France. Life is very simple here and almost as it was in the UK in the 1950s with very few cars on the roads, an abundance of wildlife, no air pollution and a high sense of tranquillity. I spend my days walking my dog and reaping what I can from my garden as well as occasionally fishing – with little success, although it does provide peace of mind. My time at Stowe taught me a great deal about appreciating the beauty of everything around us and here I have found my Nirvana. I could not have wished for more as I reach the Autumn of my life and I am grateful for every morning.”
